Classes 7 Maths – Mr Kilfiger
Work for week commencing 6th July 2020
Video: going through the test.
This is a longer video, about ¾ hour and I go through all the question step by step.
You probably don’t need to watch the whole thing. Focus on those questions that you improve in.
As I say at the end: I’d like to hear from you about one thing that you couldn’t do in the test, that you now understand in the video.
And have a great summer!
I’ll try to get results back by the end of term.
Work for week commencing 22nd June 2020
Apologies for this being late.
Next week on Wednesday we will have our end of year test.
To revise for the test: first look over the topics
- Negative number
- Circle mensuration
- Data analysis
- Pythagoras’ theorem
- Binary numbers
Try to focus revision on one topic at a time, You can use Mr Barton Maths http://mrbartonmaths.com/topics/ to search for a topic
You should also practice the style of questions. Take a look at these past NCT assessments 1, 2, 3 and 4. These will give you an idea of the way the questions are written (but not necessarily the same topics as on my test).
Do not allow yourselves to become stressed by tests. They are just another form of assessment, and assessment is happening all the time at school. These are graded tests, so you can’t “fail”. However it will help me to understand what you understand and what you need more help with. If you want more support with exam stress in general, look at this helpful site:
- know your triggers
- organise your time
- address the causes
- accept the things you can’t change
The actual test papers will be emailed to your parents, with more details. Please ask them to check their junk email folders, as school emails do sometimes end up there.
Please let me know if you will have difficulty printing them, as I may be able to post printed copies of the test to individuals (if you don’t have a printer or it is out of ink, for example).

This week we will do revision, followed by an online test on Friday.
Here are five topics for revision: You will need to pick a couple of topics I don’t expect you to finish every worksheet.
Each section has two parts, an “academic” and “express”. The “express” section contains harder questions (and may extend a little beyond the level required for a perfect mark in the test). Most students can use the “Academic” revision, but some may benefit from trying the Express questions.
The test will be online on Friday 29th May, using the school’s Microsoft forms system
