Writing Competition

Catherine Fenton

At Michael Hall, we always try to make literacy exciting and fun, so we’ve started an annual writing competition! There are two categories, Class 6-8 and Class 9-12, and you can write about anything you choose; whatever you find rich, interesting and challenging. You could craft a short story, a poem, a factual piece, an opinion article- using vivid, engaging and varied language and structure to interest the reader.

Submit your pieces neatly written on A4 paper to the box in the Mansion (Black and White Hall) by June 15th, and then winners and runners up will be announced at Midsummer. All submissions will get written, supportive feedback, and be displayed at the Midsummer Festival- because it really is the fun of taking part that counts!
