Dear Michael Hall Community,
What a great start to the term! Bare walls are starting to be filled with children's beautiful artistic work as we are all settling into a new school rhythm. We are already looking ahead to our Michaelmas celebration, which is a much enjoyed work day, a solid feature in our yearly festival calendar. Already we can see leaves turning into their beautiful rustic oranges, reds, yellows and brown hues reminding us that summer is fading as Autumn mists appear. I am reminded of the beautiful Autumnal poem by Keats, which I'm sure many of you will know.
Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness,
Close bosom-friend of the maturing sun;
Conspiring with him how to load and bless
With fruit the vines that round the thatch-eves run;
To bend with apples the moss'd cottage-trees,
And fill all fruit with ripeness to the core;
To swell the gourd, and plump the hazel shells
With a sweet kernel; to set budding more,
And still more, later flowers for the bees,
Until they think warm days will never cease,
For summer has o'er-brimm'd their clammy cells.
