Class 3 Shelters
Having learned about a range of shelters from around the world, we went into the school grounds and had a go at building mini shelters from what we could find, much as people around the world have done in the course of history.
Our next step was to visit the Weald and Downland Museum to see how more advanced homes were built, but still without the use of modern machinery or power tools.
Finally, we launched into our individual shelter projects in the classroom. There was a real sense of calm as all the children channelled their developing measuring, estimating and manual skills into creating their exciting miniature homes.
We look forward to sharing more pictures of the finished homes in a few weeks.
