Learning to shade and avoid outlines

In their art lesson, Class 4G took on the challenge of drawing a tree using a new pencil shading technique. Using pencils - as opposed to crayons - evenly and effectively for large areas requires manual dexterity and calm focus. They worked hard, and to top it off, they successfully rendered their trees without using outlines - the 'holy grail' of much of the drawing taught in younger years.
