May Festival Celebrations
Last week, parents were invited to come and watch our May Day celebrations outside the Mansion, organised by Class 3. Dressed in green and white and adorned with flower garlands, Classes 1-5 welcomed in the Spring by dancing round the maypole accompanied by a merry band of musicians.
Here are some words from Mr Godber, Class 3 teacher.
"Class 3 is a large class with 25 pupils, and at first we tried a simple dance to make sure we could all work together, particularly as there have been seven new joiners since the summer who were not used to May pole dancing. However, we soon wanted a far greater challenge and so took on the famous spider work pattern, complemented by an elegant, dainty tiptoe routine. After a number of tangles during rehearsals, the class pulled off a stunning dance that all were proud of. Class 5 pupils even came in to share their compliments with us."
