Spring Work Day

On Tuesday, classes 1-8 took part in the first school Spring Work Day. The theme of the day was a land-based spring clean, clearing debris from the winter and caring for all the beings that inhabit it. Classes 5 were building dead hedges for insects, hedgehogs, snakes and others; Class 1a/4b held a ceremony to welcome the Childrens Forest at Michael Hall; Classes 6 were clearing guards from trees in the orchard and brambles surrounding the bee hives; Classes 8 were digging foundations for railway sleepers in the new centenary garden, and of course some big fires too!

The day began at 8:45 on the outdoor theatre before the classes got to work and ended in front of the beautiful magnolia blossom just before lunch. Overall a great success.
