Music

Money donated to support Music at Michael Hall is directed towards helping our young children begin the wonderful journey of making music through the adventure of learning a musical instrument. Any donations fund both the Class 2 String Experience and the repair or purchase of instruments. Investing in our music provision is an ongoing necessity and this year, we are looking to purchase both a clarinet and a flute to lend out to budding young musicians following the recent demonstrations given by our wonderful Visiting Instrumental Teachers.

At Michael Hall, we charge an incredibly low rate for instrument hire, only £25 per term where most outlets will charge much more. This is done so in full consciousness, but it does mean that there are only limited resources for investing in to the maintenance of these instruments. Going forward, we also have plans to introduce lessons on brass instruments and all of our trumpets, horns and trombones are in need of substantial repair or replacement.

We are also in the process of organising a support fund for instrumental lessons, so that when things are tight, our students' instrumental lessons can hopefully continue with some help. The initial monies for this fund were collected at the Kidbrooke Park Music Festival at the end of October.

As ever, the larger the funds, the greater the support we can offer. If you possibly can, any donations are gratefully received to help support Music at Michael Hall.
